Weighed down with data?
Inundated with information?
Overstrained with knowledge?
Intimidated by wisdom?
Don’t despair!
Relief from all of this is just be around the corner, in the shape of the next revolutionary inflection point in IT. Yes, as you might have guessed it by now. I am talking about data-less apps.
What are data-less apps?
Simply stated, data-less apps are simple to complex high-specialisation and quasi-generic-core apps, which do not have to rely on the continued ingestion, form persistence and same-type use of data or information in order to function and to provide operational value. Instead they are built on super-smart algorithms, next-generation statistical techniques and super-nova equations.
Data-less apps use a citizen-centric, zero-tolerance, data-governance paradigm – harnessed to the architectural principle of agile-angularity – in order to secure, decentralise and distribute surrogate-data surrogates in a protected, unalterable and verifiable form that can be digitally challenged and subjected to proxified due-diligence.
Data-less apps leverage proximity aware, transversal semiotic-object and interconnected symbolic-connotation APIs in order to achieve the smooth and seamless transition from data-centric to data-less apps.
Data-less apps, because they are the antithesis of data-centric apps, do not require a centralised data cleaning, storing and retrieval hub. Everything is in the ether, and nothing is stored as what we might easily recognise as being data – i.e. recognisable streams, sets and groups of meaningful symbols.
Who is using data-less apps
Much of the work on data-less apps is being done in the government sector, but also in the military-industrial arm of business. Data-less app techniques are being applied to surveillance, data protection and top-prime stealth missions. But, there is much reluctance in organisations to ‘open up the kimono’ when it comes to data-less apps and this is unfortunately one of the main reasons why details of data-less app successes are currently hard to come by. Which may not come as a surprise to those working at the coal-face of Big Data, Machine Learning and AI initiatives.
Needless to say, the great leaders of the free-world are following these technological developments with a sharp degree of interest. Which, is where my company comes into the picture.
Benefits
Here are just some of the benefits of data-less apps.
Collaterised data objectification: The first benefits of this technology is that there is no risk of concrete single-points of failure, with the resulting high-jeopardy data-accident-errors, and the fall-out that this can bring. With data-less apps there is a plethora of points around the geopolitical paradigm, all capable of absorbing, replicating and containing the perils, and then manifesting them, if so required. Hint: Data stops being data when it becomes a symbolic derivative.
Multi-point elasticity: As is to be expected, the data-less apps can scale across a wide domain and are not subjected to specific or local tenancy agreements or legislation.
Platform-agnostic cross-techno-silo synergy: The data-less apps can run seamlessly across a whole gamut of technology platforms.
Smart symbol contracts, disintermediation and trust-less exchange: Two or more involved parties (individuals or organisations or both) are able to bring about a digital exchange without the oversight or intermediation of a third party, reducing and eliminating counterparty risk.
Data-less apps are timely: Knowledge workers will no longer be able to justify spending 60% of each workday attempting to find and manage data that doesn’t exist.
Data-less apps are accessible: Half of senior executives report that accessing the right data is difficult. So data-less apps will dramatically reduce the data that a senior executive has access to, but doesn’t know how to navigate.
Data-less apps are holistic: Data-less apps are everything and nothing. They project on unlimited levels of extrapolation and aggregation through infinity as well as providing a blindingly fast search and select exemplar. One never before seen in the history of IT.
Data-less apps are trustworthy: 29% of businesses quantify the monetary cost of poor data quality. “Things as simple as monitoring multiple systems for customer contact information updates can save millions of dollars.” As there is no data in data-less apps, there are no associated data quality issues. The cost savings in data governance alone, will be massive.
Data-less apps are relevant: What doesn’t speak, can’t lie. Right? 43% of companies are disgruntled with the way their digital utensils filter unconnected data. Again, no data, no problem.
Data-less apps are secure: When it comes to data and breaches, there will be zero-breaches with data-less apps.
Data-less apps are authoritative: 80% of organizations struggle with multiple versions of the truth. No version of the truth? No worries.
Data-less apps are actionable: Call them up and shut them down, anytime and anyplace you like. That’s direct-digital-democracy in action.
That’s it folks
Well-done to you for getting through this text. One thing to consider is that this ‘new’ takes quite a while to digest. Be patient, be strong and work at it.
